Prevent Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Right Now

In tropical countries like Indonesia, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a major concern because it affects health conditions and quality of life, and can cause death. Prevention of this disease must be done at all times. Dengue fever is caused by the body being infected by the dengue virus carried by arthropod insect species, in this case the Aedes aegypti mosquito. For this reason, dengue prevention is focused on preventing the breeding and eradication of the mosquito nest. When someone is bitten by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, that's when the mosquito might infect the dengue virus that lives in the mosquito's body. About four or six days after being infected, it is likely that DHF symptoms will arise, namely high fever, back pain, nausea, vomiting, joint pain, fatigue, appearance of skin rashes two to five days after fever. These symptoms usually occur for ten days. Light bleeding may even occur, such as the gums, nose, and bruises easily arise in the body. These symptoms can develop into serious, which causes damage to lymph nodes and blood vessels, enlargement of the liver, failure of the circulatory system, heavy bleeding to death. Unfortunately there is no vaccine to prevent dengue fever. What you can do is prevent the bite of an infected mosquito, as well as the following things to prevent dengue:
  • Using AC if indoors,
  • Using mosquito repellent topical medication even indoors,
  • Wearing covered clothes such as long sleeves, long pants, and socks, when outdoors,
  • Close all holes in the windows and doors in the house so that mosquitoes can not enter.

Vitamin C for Enhancing Body Immunity

Apart from those mentioned above, there is no harm in the body's immunity is also strengthened so that it is not easily infected with the virus. This immune system can be improved by consuming a variety of important nutrients. One of them is vitamin C. Vitamin C can also protect body cells, help heal the common cold, and reduce depression. There is a theory that vitamin C has antiviral benefits, so that it can be used to prevent diseases caused by viruses. However, further clinical trials and research are needed to confirm this.

Guava, Fruit Rich in Vitamin C

You can get food sources that are rich in vitamin C, one of which is guava. This fruit, which is often called guava, besides being rich in vitamin C also contains a little folate. Maybe not many people know that the level of vitamin C in guava is four times more than oranges. There are no scientific studies that determine the right dosage in consuming guava. Although eating natural foods such as fruit, sometimes the dose must also be considered. Therefore, do not be lazy to read the appropriate dosage instructions on the packaging, especially if you consume guava in juice. However, prevention is better than cure. Instead of being bitten by a mosquito infected with a dengue virus and having to feel pain and undergoing treatment, better protect yourself with strong immunity. Moreover, guava is easy to get around, both in the form of real fruit and juice in packaging.
